Japanese Sunday Hike ???

A free Sunday means run away to the wilds of the Kansai hills!! With June comes Japan’s rainy season, so there aren’t too many more nice weekends to go hiking. I just went for a quick hike on Mt. Maya ???which is part of the Mount Rokko chain. It was a pretty chilled out hike as you can see. Some nice little shrines, houses, waterfalls and other things along the way. Yes…another hiking vid and I have to proudly admit that I love hiking. So far, from what I gather and have seen…Japan is a pretty damn nice place to hike and enjoy the outdoors! I’m hoping to get to Mount Fuji in mid-July and in the early Fall…maybe the Japan Alps in the Nagano or Shizuoka areas! We’ll have to see. BTW…if anyone out there has some good Japan hiking resources (aka. links, book titles, etc) please drop me a message or leave a comment. If you like the vid…please RATE and COMMMENT and if you haven’t already…SUBSCRIBE!!!!

Good video. I’m looking forward to seeing your Mt. Fuji vlog. It is quite a barren mountain close-up, and over commercialised, but still a rewarding experience. You’ll like the Japanese Alps, Mt Yari is an enjoyable slog.

No, not yet. I’ve only been hiking around Kobe on the Mt. Rokko range. I’ve only been in Japan for 5 weeks. Sooooo many more places to go hiking!

Thanks a lot. They are definately my favorite ones to make….I get to run around in the forest when I film them! When I learn more about hiking and collect some info…..I’ll post it!

I like your hiking videos. It seems to be a little known part of japan. Please update if you find any good links or books for hiking.

have you been to hakusan natl park?

  7. BusanKevin says:

Yeah….a false sense of adventure and intrigue along the paved trail! Well..the entire thing wasn’t paved. There were dirt parts:)

Looked like a great day hike. Love how the Japanese decorated that bridge.

Yeah. I have to do some more reading on the topic. This is the fun part of being in a new country…sooo many interesting things to learn about the culture!

Cool….I also know that the Japanese really love nature, lots of stories about the forest spirits etc.

Cub scouts are everywhere. I passed many more on the trail as I was leaving…looks like another few dozen were heading to the same spot.

You’ll have fun for sure :)

hehe…It’ll be back next time…thought of just a generally more mellow vibe for the vid.

hehe…I have only turned a new leaf in the last year and a half. My hobbies in Korea included …well…standing in clubs 3 nights a week drinking beer! My ever shrinking liver is a fan of Japan! lol

The Cub Scouts are classic…mucho pretty there…

    Thanks for posting.
I recommend you to take the rice ball on your next hiking.
I’m sure you feel that eating the rice ball in outdoor is more delicious than eating it in indoor. :)
