The Florida Trail: Lake Okeechobee Part of the larger documentary “The Florida Trail: Florida’s own National Scenic Trail,” this segment focuses on the Florida Trail’s journey around Lake Okeechobee, where it passes through the rural agricultural towns of Pahokee, Okeechobee, Moore Haven, Clewiston, and South Bay while offering hikers some of the most spectacular views in Florida from atop the Herbert Hoover Dike. The annual Big O Hike, held Thanksgiving week, is an organized 109-walk around the lake that offers hiker camaraderie and an opportunity to “Hike for the Health of It!”
